starts sliding, which in turn nudges others, encouraging them to do the same.  It was one step at a time.... carefully.  Every movement was touch and wait.

           We are a little short of food.  Dawa isn’t worried.  The French have plenty and revenge is sweet.

           The clouds have come in and it is snowing a dry powder. Mt. Mera is engulfed in whiteness. Nothing like a white out on the summit at 22,000 feet to keep one humble.  It is possible if we would have climbed we would be there now.

           It is snowing just a sprinkle, but I figured if snow would come at all on this trip it would be here in the Hongu.  The clouds are thin and it probably won’t snow much.

           It isn’t very cold, not quite 40 degrees, and if the clouds stick around,

it should stay relatively warm.

           Watching my trail companions, I have come to the conclusion that most of the litter comes from the Nepalese themselves, not from us tourists. Even my beloved Dawa is a litter bug.  Of course we have provided the technological goodies that fail to decompose and which future generations will pick up or discard as they see fit.

           When in doubt lie down, so I am lying down and writing this. Today being somewhat of a rest day, makes me wish that I would have brought a book to read to help pass the time.

           The porters are coming off the mountain and Dawa has gone to find out what has happened.

           I have been lying down now for a couple of hours and it is still snowing.  Our food supply is camped close by and I am awaiting word on what Dawa is cooking up tonight for dinner, if anything! 

            If this snow keeps up we could see two to three inches by morning.

Tuesday 11/10

           It is midday and the snow is gone.  It is a short day for work and we stopped next to the Hongu Koala (river), about 1:00 PM.  I am actually quite anxious to get going but we cannot leave
