Our Beloved Mother, Pauline Kirk, 97, loving wife of Thomas J. Kirk (Tommy) who preceded her in death,
passed away peacefully on November 4, 2014. Pauline was born in Hazelton, ND on Dec. 17th 1916,
and moved to Seattle in 1938. Pauline and Tommy owned TOMMY’S LUNCH for 30 years first in the Security Public Market,
and then relocated to 4th and Virginia.

Pauline was a long time member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ballard, and is survived by her
four children: Patrick (Joanie), Michael (Patti), Robert (Tina), and Therese (Rob); her 14 grandchildren,
and 35 great grandchildren; her sister, Viola, and brother, Albert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, November 7th, at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM, BOTH at
St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 5816 15th Ave NW, Seattle 98107

Thomas J. Kirk,

whose downtown Tommy's Lunch served breakfast and lunch to thousands of Seattle residents overnearlythree decades, died yesterday. He was 68.
The restaurant, which Mr. Kirk operated with his wife, Pauline, was noted at Fourth Avenue and Virginia Street for a sign that declared to passersby, "If you can't stop, smile as you go by."
The Kirks moved the cafe to Fourth and Virginia in January, 1971, after operating for 19 years in the Security Market Building.
Rosary will be at 6:30 tonight at Hoffner's Fisher-Kalfus Chapel, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be at Holyrood Cemetery.
Surviving besides Mrs. Kirk are three sons, Pat Kirk of Muskegon, Mich, Mike Kirk of Vashon Island and Bob Kirk of Seattle; a daughter, Therese Kirk of Seattle, and a sister, Mrs. Winnfred Mott of San Diego.
The family suggests remembrances to Catholic Children's Services or Medic 1.
