Great aunt Mary (as I knew her) was born in Germany 4 Dec 1879.

She died in Winnemucca, NV 19 Jul 1970

 

She was no doubt the most colorful of my ancestors.  She had no children from either marriage.  Her second husband's name was Max.

They owned silver mines in NV.  When she died, she left her possessions to her many nieces and nephews.  My mother received one of her diamond rings.

 

Some years ago, a writer contacted my uncle Billy's wife (that's where Aunt Mary would stay when she came to WI to visit) and asked for details about her.  Supposedly to write a book about women of the West and include her in it.  She never contacted any of the rest of us and we never heard whether or not the book came to fruition.
