James "Jim" Grenz - Back

April 6, 1946 - June 5, 2015 Born in Everett,
Washington to Julius and Nancy Grenz, following
his twin sisters Peggy and Pat. Jim passed away
peacefully Friday June 5, 2015 with his family
at his side after a hard-fought battle with
Pulmonary Fibrosis, a progressive lung disease.
He is survived by girlfriend, Sam; sons, James
and Ryan; step-daughters, Holly and Haley;
daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Gary; and
adoring grandsons, Noah, Cameron and Brock;
sister, Peggy and husband, Larry, nieces, Staci,
Kim, Karen, Wendy and nephew Greg.
Jim grew up in Lake Stevens, Wash. where he
spent countless hours on the lake waterskiing,
hydroplane racing and enjoying anything on the
water. His love of the outdoors would continue
throughout his life, as Jim was an avid camper,
hunter, and fisherman who loved sharing these
hobbies with friends and family.
Jim was hired as an Everett Firefighter and
proudly serving the department for 23 years,
then owning and operating a land-clearing
business for roughly 18 years. Jim was a kind,
caring and thoughtful man who always positive
and put the interests before his own. He will
forever be a guiding influence in his family's
life and will be extremely missed by many.
We encourage those that knew Jim to attend his
memorial gathering and help us in celebrating
his life on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
at the Everett Firefighters Hall located at 2411
