James "Jim" Grenz -  Back

April 6, 1946 - June 5, 2015 Born in Everett, Washington to Julius and Nancy Grenz, following his twin sisters Peggy and Pat. Jim passed away peacefully Friday June 5, 2015 with his family at his side after a hard-fought battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a progressive lung disease.

He is survived by girlfriend, Sam; sons, James and Ryan; step-daughters, Holly and Haley; daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Gary; and adoring grandsons, Noah, Cameron and Brock; sister, Peggy and husband, Larry, nieces, Staci, Kim, Karen, Wendy and nephew Greg.

Jim grew up in Lake Stevens, Wash. where he spent countless hours on the lake waterskiing, hydroplane racing and enjoying anything on the water. His love of the outdoors would continue throughout his life, as Jim was an avid camper, hunter, and fisherman who loved sharing these hobbies with friends and family.

Jim was hired as an Everett Firefighter and proudly serving the department for 23 years, then owning and operating a land-clearing business for roughly 18 years. Jim was a kind, caring and thoughtful man who always positive and put the interests before his own. He will forever be a guiding influence in his family's life and will be extremely missed by many.

We encourage those that knew Jim to attend his memorial gathering and help us in celebrating his life on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Everett Firefighters Hall located at 2411 Hewitt Ave in Everett, WA 98201.
