Walter Ace Sells, 93, of Seaside, died
Sunday, March 29, 2009, in Seaside.
He was born May 15, 1915, in Haskell, Okla., to Frank Eugene
Sells and Midda Frances Wood. He attended school in
Oklahoma.
He served in the U.S. Army for three years.
On Nov. 14, 1945, he married Geraldine Grenz in Reno, Nev.
She survives, residing in Seaside.
Mr. Sells spent most of life in the Aromas, Watsonville area
of California. He worked for Granite Construction Company,
then for Phillips 66 (Conoco-Phillips Inc.) for many years
as a shipping clerk. He retired in the early 1980s after 25
years with the company.
In Aromas, he was a singer on the radio and belonged to the
Baptist Church of Aromas.
Family members said he enjoyed gardening, reading, being
with his grandchildren and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters,
Darlene Howell of Lincoln City and Michelle Marcos of
Salinas, Calif.; two sons, Richard Sells of Texarkana, Ark.,
and Mitchell Sells of Wilsonville; and numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hughes-Ransom
Mortuary Chapel, 220 N. Holladay Drive in Seaside.
Vault interment will take place at Ocean View Cemetery in
Warrenton.
