Margaretha (Sinkbeil) Pfeifer, 98, of
Eureka and formerly of Zeeland, ND will be
10:30 am, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Zion
Lutheran Church at Zeeland. The Rev.
Eugene Roecker will officiate.
Burial in Zeeland Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 3-6 pm at
the funeral home.
Verna died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at
Avera Eureka Health Care Center.
Verna Margaretha Sinkbeil, daughter of
Adolph and Pauline (Mehlhaff) Sinkbeil was
born June 27, 1913 at Zeeland, ND. This is
where she grew up graduating from Zeeland
High School with the class of 1932. She
worked at the Luncheonette and lived in
Eureka for a short time.
She was united in marriage to John Henry
Pfeifer on December 8, 1935 at her
parent's home in Zeeland. They made their
home in Zeeland. She was a homemaker
raising her four sons. Her husband died
November 24, 1995. In July of 1996, she
moved to Eureka and in 2000, she entered
Avera Eureka Health Care Center.
Verna enjoyed crocheting, gardening and
canning. She liked being in the outdoors.
Any time spent with her grandchildren,
were always treasured moments.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church
at Zeeland and a past member of the Ladies
Aide.
Survivors include three sons, Chuck
Pfeifer of Lake Ida, MN, John M. (Rita)
Pfeifer of Bismarck, ND and Neil Pfeifer
of Stone Mountain, GA, three sisters,
Patty Busk of Eureka, Calma Sapp of
Longview, WA and Bernice Huber of Pierre,
SD, three brothers, Walter Sinkbeil of
Dayton, WA, Raymond Sinkbeil of Medicine
Lodge, KS and Edgar Sinkbeil of Colfax,
WA, seven grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and one son, Dennis
preceded her in death.
Honorary Casketbearers will be all of
Verna's family and friends.
Casketbearers will be Rane Pfeifer, Steven
Pfeifer, Jeffrey Busk, Chuck Pfeifer, John
Pfeifer and Neil Pfeifer.
The organist will be Cindy Levi and the
Zion Lutheran Church Choir will sing.
