Thelma Gill passed
away in Medicine Hat at the age of 96 years. She was the
beloved wife of Rev. Alvin Gill. Thelma was born in
Ritzville, Washington on July 23, 1918. She immigrated to
Canada with her parents, Sam and Alvina Wiese, at the age of
seven, and they settled in Leader, Saskatchewan. There, at
age 14 years, she gave her life to Jesus and later met her
future husband, Alvin Gill. They were married on February
21, 1939. Thelma and Alvin spent many years in the ministry
in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Her heart was in ministry, her
family and others. She was predeceased by her husband Alvin
in 1981, a daughter Grace in 1941 and a her son, Rev. Norman
Gill in 1985; her parents; two sisters and one brother. She
is survived by her daughters, Gladys (Alvin) Kurpjuweit and
Marlene (Tony) Malach; her daughter-in-law, Carol Gill;
eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two
sisters, Alice Mulbiur and Genevieve Blume; one brother
Alvin Wiese; a sister-in-law Alida Sackman as well as
numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends who wish to
pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on
Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The memorial service
will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, November 7,
2014 at 3:00 p.m. with her grandson Rev. Dean Kurpjuweit,
officiating.
