Ronald Rodney Henneberg


Graveside services for Ronald Rodney Henneberg, age 78, of Great Falls, MT will be held on June 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. MT at the McIntosh City Cemetery. Pastor Tottie Lenerville will officiate and burial with military honors will be afforded by the Ralph T. Ankerson American Legion Post # 255 of McIntosh.

Ronald Henneberg was born August 25, 1932 in Kulm, ND. He attended elementary school in Ellendale, ND and Aberdeen, SD. He graduated from high school in McIntosh, SD and received his bachelor's and master's degrees at Nort

Ron served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954, during the Korean War. He received the Navy Commendation Medal while assigned to Anti-submarine Squadron 38 as an aviation electronics technician and combat air crewman.

After serving in the Navy and attending Northern State University in Aberdeen, he taught in Aberdeen from 1957 to 1964, when he moved to Great Falls, MT. He was principal at Whittier, Roosevelt, Russell and Riverview schools before retiring in 1987. He married Nancy Marvin in 1959, in Faulkton, SD. They divorced in 1970.

Ron was a member of the American Legion and past member of the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters. He was a private pilot and avid cross-country bicyclist. He enjoyed reading, physical exercise, collecting plates and traveling.
He passed away on November 2, 2010 at his home in Great Falls, MT.

He is survived by his daughter, Camille Henneberg, Rapid City, SD; sons Bradley Henneberg, Milwaukie, OR, Douglas Henneberg, Spokane, WA and William Henneber, Healy, AK; sisters Della Haffner, Jackson, TN and Mary Lynn Siedschlau, Apopka, Fl; brothers, Thomas Henneberg, Cloumbia Falls, MT and Steven Henneberg, Scottsdale, AZ; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Dale Henneberg.
