ELK GROVE, CALIF. - Roger Allen Schildmeyer passed away peacefully on January 30, 2008 in Elk Grove California; following a courageous ten-day battle; afte a sudden heart attack.

Roger was born in Salem, Oregon on February 24, 1942. He graduated from South Salem High School and University of Oregon and married Mary L. Ryan in 1965. She preceded him death in 1988.

 Roger leaves behind his children, Debi and Thom; their spouses, Matt and Kristen; four grandchildren, Ryan, Mary Kate, Chase, and Madelyn; all of the Sacramento area.  Roger also leaves behind his siblings, David, Greg, Don, Anita, and Brenda; and a large number of in-laws, nieces and nephews. Roger will be sorely missed by so many, including his special friends Lucy and Cathy, as well as his extended families at the Elk Grove Home Depot, WalMart, and Elk Grove High School Football. Roger would be found in the announcer booth of every home game, for the past 30 years. Roger loved watching his grandchildren participate in karate, soccer, baseball and basketball. He spent countless hours riding and raising horses in the Wilton area. He enjoyed watching his 49ers, Kings, and Oregon Ducks play on TV.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, 8989 E. Stockton Blvd., in Elk Grove, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, Roger's family requests donations in his honor are given to Elk Grove Project Ride, or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
