Marvin Lee Grenz Obituary

 Marvin L. Grenz, 82, of Gackle, ND, passed away on Saturday evening, January 24, 2015 at Manor Care, Fargo, surrounded by his family.
         Marvin Lee Grenz was born on May 4. 1932, near Gackle, ND, the son of John and Caroline (Herman) Grenz. He grew up on the family farm west of Gackle and attended country school just a few miles north. Marvin married Leah Moser on September 18, 1952 in Moorhead, MN. They made their home on the family farm west of Gackle, raising small grains and cattle. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Gackle. Marvin was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed traveling with his family. He also enjoyed collecting pens, calendars, and anything John Deere.
            A message from the family: “Our Dad was the most caring and loving person. He went out of his way to help us, he always stood by our decisions and was the most amazing Dad. He will be truly missed.”
           Marvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Leah Grenz, Gackle; daughters, Linda (Cory) Wentz, Kokomo, IN and Laurie (Mark) Tuma, Fargo, ND; son Greg (Anna Pierce) Grenz, Carrington, ND; four grandchildren, Cassandra Grenz, Derek Wentz, Alexandra Grenz, and Emerson Grenz; sister-in-law, Magdalena Grenz, Gackle; brother-in-law, Marvin Tarnasky, Bismarck, ND; former daughter-in-law, Marie Odette; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Grenz; brothers, Bert (Julia) Grenz, Gust (Dorothy) Grenz, and Alvin Grenz; sisters, Malida (Robert) Weixel, Mathilda Tarnasky, and Geraldine (Walter) Sells.
             Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church, Gackle.
Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Leah was born on September 2, 1934 and passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019. She grew up in Medina and attended school there. Leah Grenz, 85, of Carrington, ND, formerly of Gackle, ND, passed away early Sunday morning, November 10, 2019 at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.
Leah Moser was born on September 2, 1934 in Medina, ND, the daughter of Carl P. and Lydia (Hoffman) Moser. She grew up in Medina and attended school there. At a young age, Leah tended to her mother at home until she passed away. Leah married Marvin Grenz on September 18, 1952 in Moorhead, MN. They made their home on Marvin’s family farmstead for many years, raising small grains and cattle. Leah cleaned homes and worked at the Gackle Care Center for over 10 years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Bible School, and belonged to the Baptist Gleaners. Leah enjoyed watching classic western shows, gardening, playing board games, kitty cats, owls, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Leah is survived by her daughters, Linda (Cory) Wentz and Laurie (Mark) Tuma; son Greg (Anna) Grenz; grandchildren, Derek Wentz, Cassandra Renner, Alexandra Grenz, Ashley Riccio, Emerson Grenz, Bailey, Amber, and Logan Pierce; great-grandchildren, Journie and Reese Riccio; twin brother, Leon Moser; brother, Oscar Moser; sister-in-law, Magdalena Grenz; former daughter-in-law, Marie Odette; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; son, Gary Grenz; brothers, Albert, Ted, Ernest, Edwin, and Ray; and sister, Alvina.
