Arthur E. Knoepfle

"We went through the 30's where we had hart times.  Sometimes didn't know where the next meal was coming from but we made it."  So states Martha Knoepfle as she reflected on her early married life on the farm southeast of Artas, South Dakota.  They farmed until 19549 when they moved to Artas after Leslie took over the operation of the farm.  Arthur was employed by the Eureka Sales Barn one day a week for many years.  He continued to help his son on the farm and worked for Artas Co-op for a few years.  Martha, in addition to homemaking duties, did both interior and exterior painting.
