Prosper Pfeifer,
84, McClusky, died Aug. 7, 2004, at a Bismarck hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at St.
John's Lutheran Church, McClusky. Burial will be at McClusky
City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Hertz
Funeral Home, McClusky.
Prosper was born June 25, 1920, in Max, the son of Katherine
Pfeifer. Katherine married Jake Hoffer in 1923. They lived
north of McClusky on the family farm. Prosper married Luella
Haux Dec. 9, 1940 in McClusky. They lived on farms in the
Goodrich and Lincoln Valley areas before moving to a farm
northwest of McClusky in Holmes Township in 1948. Prosper
lived on the farm until Aug. 10, 2003, when he moved into
the Sheridan Memorial Home of McClusky.
Prosper was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of
McClusky, where he served as an usher for many years. He was
a lifetime member of the McClusky American Legion and the
McClusky Rural Fire Department for over fifty years. He also
served as secretary on the Holmes Township Board. Prosper
enjoyed driving to visit with people and telling jokes. He
also enjoyed playing cards and board games. One of his
greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
Prosper is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice
and Dale Froemming, Elgin; two grandchildren, Cordell, and
his wife, Joy Krein, and Cheryl, and her husband, Kevin
Fitzgerald; two great-grandchildren, Leighel Fitzgerald and
Brandon Krein.
Prosper was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Luella on April 3, 1997; one grandson, Scott Allen Krein;
five sisters; and two brothers.

Luella Pfeifer, 76, McClusky, died April 3,
1997, in the Underwood nursing home.Services will be held at
2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, McClusky, with
burial in McClusky Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m.
Sunday and 9 a.m.-noon Monday at Hertz Funeral Home,
McClusky.
Luella Haux was born June 5, 1920, on the family farm
northwest of McClusky, to Christ and Katie Haux. She grew up
and attended rural school there.
She married Prosper Pfeifer on Dec. 9, 1940, at McClusky.
They lived on farms in the Goodrich and Lincoln Valley areas
before moving to a farm northwest of McClusky in Holmes
Township, SheridanCounty in 1948. She entered Prairieview
Nursing Home in Underwood in 1985.
Luella was very active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary
League at St. John's Lutheran Church, McClusky, where she
was a member. She was also a life member of the American
Legion Auxiliary in McClusky.
She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, quilting and
embroidering.
She is survived by her husband, Prosper; one daughter and
son-in-law, Janice and Dale Froemming, Elgin; two
grandchildren, Cordell Krein, and his wife, Joy, and Cheryl
and herhusband Kevin Fitzgerald; two great-grandchildren,
Leighel Fitzgerald and Brandon Krein; fourbrothers, LaVern,
Jamestown, Emil, Billings, Mont., Melvin and Roland, both of
Bismarck; and one sister, Regina Cook, Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers,
Harold and Ervin; and one sister, Lucille.
