Harley and Ida (Grenz) Kiesz

Harley Kiesz was born July 3, 1921 at Eureka, SD the son of Philip and Katie Kiesz.  He is a high school graduate, and has been employed as a cabinet maker for 28 years and eight years as an aircraft technician.

Harley and Ida Grenz were married September 17, 1941 at Carson City, NV.  Ida was born December 30, 1919 at Artas, SD, the daughter of Gottlieb and Christine (Wentz) Grenz.  Her education includes two years of college and employment as office clerk for 23 years.

They have two children:  Rick, a design and layout artist residing in Ranch Murieta, CA and Edythe (Bumgarner), a nurse residing in Modesto, CA.  They have two grandchildren:  Stacy Kiesz and Chad Bumgarner.

They are affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventist Church

 

 

Obituary

Ida (Grenz) Kiesz

Ida Kiesz, 75, of Lodi died Feb 8 in a local hospital following sudden illness.

Mrs. Kiesz grew up in Napoleon, ND where she also attended schools attended college in Bismarck and returned to Napoleon where she taught elementary school for a year.  She moved to Lodi in 1940.

She also worked as a bookkeeper for Valley tow-rite for 22 years.

Mrs. Kiesz was a member of Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church where she also served as a deaconess.  She ws a charter member of the Lodi Fairmont Sewing Club for 50 yrs.  She was also a member of the Pink Ladies of Lodi Memorial Hospital for 17 yrs.

Mrs. Kiesz enjoyed traveling and entertaining.

She is survived by her husband Harley Elmer Kiesz of Lodi; one son, Rick Kiesz of Sacramento; one daughter, Edee Singer of Lodi: three brothers, Albert Grenz. MN, and John and Willie Grenz of ND; two sisters, Christine Hoen of Washington and Elsie Meyer of CO; and two grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Grenz

The service will be held at 1 PM Monday at Lodi Funeral Home with Elera Harley Schander and Ron Carlson of Fairmont Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating.  Interment is private at Cherokee Memorial Park.  Visitation my be made from 1AM to PM Saturday, 9AM to9 PM Sunday, and (AM to service time Monday at the funeral home.
