Harley K. Grenz, son of John G. and Irene Grenz
was born May 2, 142. He spent his early years of
childhood on the family farm in the flat area near Streeter.
After graduation from Napoleon High School, Harley served two
years in the Army. Upon his completion of service, he attended
Wahpeton State School of Science. He started farming
with his father in the napoleon area.
On September 28, 1969, Harley married Gloria Brousseau,
daughter of Ray Broussear and Melva Norling. Gloria was
born December 19, 1948 and spent many of her childhood years
in Steele, ND, completing her education of Napoleon High
School in 1966. After High school she was employed at
the ASCS office and attended Valley City State College.
The first seven years of Harley and Gloria's marriage was
spent on the family farm three miles east of Napoleon.
In 1975 they built their new home on the northwest edge of
Napoleon, where they are currently residing. they owned and
operated Napoleon TV and Appliance from 1975 to 1982.
Both Harley and Gloria are active on the school board, church
council and was an active member of the Jaycees and American
Legion. Gloria is active in Homemakers, various church
organizations and Girl Scouts. They both love to travel
and spending their summers at lake Isabel.
The Grenzes have four children; Michael, born Feb. 10,
1969, Candice born Jan. 1, 1971, Cindy, born July 22, 1975 and
Kelly Ann born Dec. 30, 1077. They are members of
Trinity Lutheran Chruch. The family is currently engaged
in a 4,000 acre diversified farming operation in Napoleon and
the surrounding area with Harley's brother Steve.
