Fred Pfeifer, Jr.
Fred Pfeifer, Jr. 76 of Lodi, Ca. passed away on
April 14 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on
April 25, 1932 in Linton, North Dakota.
Mr. Pfeifer moved to Lodi in 1932 with his Father. He
attended Lodi schools and joined the US Marines after high
school.
Fred married Carlene Truede****, who passed
away in 1988.
Fred enjoyed his work at the neighborhood butcher. He cut
meat at Pure Sausage, Lakewood Meats, Don Quicks and several
other local markets before moving to Lockeford, and opening
Pfeifer's Meats. He partially retired in 1990.
Mr. Pfeifer was a member of the First Baptist Church,
American Legion Lodi Post No: 22, and a former member of the
Lockeford - Clements Lion's Club and the Butcher's Union.
After he retired he enjoyed fishing and spending time with
his family.
Fred is survived by his partner and companion, Virginia Hill
of Lodi, Ca.: Two daughters: Liz Pfeifer Mueller of Lodi, Ca:
Janeen M. Pfeifer George of Lockeford: a son Jack Pfeifer of
Lodi, Ca: A step-son Mike McMahon of Lockeford, eight
grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Fred is preceded in death by his second wife Carlene
Pfeifer, six brothers: Jacob, Leavering, Edwin,
Albert, Leo, and Alfred Pfeifer: Two sisters: Elsie Pfeifer
Bechtold and Emma Pfeifer.
Visitation was from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8
a.m. to service time on Wednesday at Lodi Funeral Home.
A chapel service was at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lodi
Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Kalebjian of Lodi Avenue Baptist
Church officiating.
Rite of committal was at the Lodi Memorial Cemetery
