Dena Mae Kertzman
, 75, passed away Nov. 25, 2015, at Regional Health’s Hospice House.

She leaves behind two sons, Mitchell and Cynthia Kertzman, Rapid City, and Samuel Kertzman and Kyra Brown of Lake Frederick, VA; two daughters, Julia and Warren Stramer, and Deann and Brad Solon of Rapid City; and her two brothers, Timothy Pfeifer and Leslie Pfeifer.

She was Grandma to seven grandchildren: Christa (Kertzman) and Jesse Rieb; Danielle (Kertzman) and Jeremy Lowe; Neil and Jessica Stramer; Lyle Stramer, Bryan and Katie Stramer; and Lander and Laura Solon.

She was Great-Grandma to ten: Paige, Jacob, Jett, Payton, Teygn, Alaina, Elliot, Olivia, Hazel, and Violet.
Dena was an excellent seamstress and cook, and helped her father Arthur in the blacksmith shop in Hazelton, ND, in her youth. She taught Sunday and Bible school at the Presbyterian Church in Hazelton for many years. She enjoyed cooking and baking for students from districts in ND, VA and SD. Dena was Master Assistant to her fisherman husband Bryan. She and Bryan traveled to many U.S. destinations and well as Mexico and Canada.

Arthur and Margare Dena was preceded in death by her Husband, Bryan; and her parents, t Pfeifer.

Dena was an independent, strong woman and will be missed by all of us. Well played, Mom.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Masters officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.



Bryan Kertzman,
Rapid City, S.D., passed away Oct. 3, 2010. Cremation has taken place and the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday, Oct. 8, at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home, Rapid City. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery following the service. Any gifts will be given to Barnabas Fellowship.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Dena; two sons, Mitch and Cindy Kertzman, Rapid City, and Sam Kertzman and Kyra Brown, Sterling, Va.; and two daughters, Warren and Julia (Kertzman) Stramer, Hazelton, and Brad and Deann (Kertzman) Solon, Rapid City. He was grandpa to Neil and Jessica Stramer, Lyle Stramer, Bryan and Katie Stramer, Christa and Jesse Rieb, Danielle and Jeremy Lowe and Lander Solon; and seven great-grandchildren.

Bryan was a great fisherman and hunter and was always getting ready for the next hunting or fishing trip with his family and friends. He also loved to travel and from his pickup window, he enjoyed seeing the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Bryan was born in Hazelton on June 3, 1939, and farmed in the Hazelton area for many years. He married Dena Mae Pfeifer in 1958. In 1984, they moved to Charlottesville, Va., where he was manager for a circuit board company and was plant manager for Christian Aid Mission. Bryan and Dena moved to Rapid City in 1992, where Bryan was plant manager for Timberline and Black Hills Molding. He suffered with many health problems in his later years and finally asked the Lord to take him home on Oct. 3, 2010, at the age of 71.
Preceding Bryan in death were Peter F. and Verna Kertzman, Hazelton.

Bryan is survived by one brother, Dwight and his wife, Wanda, Eureka Springs, Alaska. Bryan leaves behind family members Kathryn Baugher, Otto Kafer, Geneva Spees, Rita Johnson, Rebecca Baugher, Laura Cobb, Mark Baugher, Dee Baugher, Costello Grenz and many nieces and nephews.
