Clifford “Cliff” H. Grenz, age 86, of Clark and formerly of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Clark Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown with Reverend Dave Biebighauser officiating.

1. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Monday at the Java Cemetery, Java.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cliff’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Active Pallbearers will be Henry Grenz, Benn Grenz, Corey Klocker, Joey Klocker, Gene Oban and David Hanson.

Clifford Henry Grenz was born on June 12, 1930, to Henry and Emma (Hirsch) Grenz in Artas, South Dakota. He attended country school near Herreid. On August 20, 1952, he married Bernice M. Boschee at Selby. The couple farmed near Herreid. They also lived in the communities of Selby, Eureka and Java before moving to Watertown in 1989. Cliff was the custodian at Java Public School until its closing. He then worked at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown as a maintenance man and later was the custodian at the First Congregational United Church of Christ until his retirement. In May of 2016, Cliff became a resident at the Clark Care and Rehab Center.

Cliff was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, puzzles, walking and dancing.

Cliff is survived by three daughters, Judy (Tim) Klocker of Rapid City, Janette Grenz of Watertown, and Tamara Grenz of Watertown; two sons, Myron Grenz of Clark, and Darrell (Debra) Grenz of Rochester, Minn.; his sister, Bernice Oban of Ipswich; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Bernice Grenz on August 18, 1997.
