Christine Grenz

Christine (Grenz) Hoen was born in Artas, SD on April 20, 1921, the daughter of Gottlieb G and Christine (Wentz) Grenz

In October, 1925, the Gottlieb Grenz family moved to Napoleon, ND, where her father and Mr. P. J. Wentz formed a partnership in a General Merchandising business.  They built the Wentz and Grenz grocery, and Wentz and Grenz clothing stores in Napoleon.  The partnership was dissolved in 1949.

In 1924, she graduated from Napoleon High School, and shortly thereafter, moved to Portland, Or.  She worked at Kaiser shipyards in Vancouver, WA. during World War II, and moved to Seattle in 1948 to attend Simpson Bible Institute.  After graduating in 1940, she obtained employment at Sweden Freezer Manufacturing Co. in Seattle, and worked there for 13 years.

She met the man of her life in a Seattle Church, and they were married in October, 1964.

Dalbert Hoen, her husband, was born in a small town in Southeastern Washington state in 1921.  The Hoen family moved to Seattle, WA in 1928 where they settled.

Dalbert graduated from Seattle Pacific College after spending over three years in the Navy in the Pacific war zone during World War II.  He subsequently served for over 23 years in aircraft communications for the Federal government, from which he retired in January, 1981.

Dalbert and Christine have been settled in Vancouver, WA for the past twelve years.
