Obituary
Died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at the
Bismarck hospital, where she had been a patient for 9 days:
she had surgery on Monday, July 15. Funeral services
were held on Sunday, July 21, 1963 at the Grace Baptist Church
in Gackle. Burial was in the Gackle cemetery with Haut
Funeral Home in charge. She was a 3 month old infant
when her parents came to the U.S. and settled near Venturia,
North Dakota. In 1897 the family moved to a farm
homestead seven miles northwest of Gackle in Stutsman County.
She received her schooling and grew to womanhood in the
community. On Jan. 5. 1917, she and John Grenz were
married at Wibaux, Montana and they made their home on the
farm which he had previously purchased from his father.
The actively farmed until 1959, when they retired, but
continued to live on the farm with their son Marvin and his
family
