Carol Jean Ketterling
71, of Great Falls, a retired waitress and cook, died of
natural causes Friday, May 11, at home.
Services are 2 p.m Saturday at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial
Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
On Dec. 20, 1940, Carol Jean Ketterling was born to Lester
and Lois Boylan in Laurel, where she was raised and
eventually graduated high school. Carol briefly worked for
First National Bank in Billings prior to meeting her
husband. She married Millard Ketterling in Laurel on July
30, 1960. They shared nearly 52 years together and were
blessed with two daughters and two sons. Carol was busy
raising her children and being a fluent homemaker from 1960
until 1975. After her children started school, she went to
work at various restaurants, nursing homes, bars and diners.
She retired in 1992 due to an injury.
Carol was gifted with creativity in arts and crafts, which
she loved working with. She enjoyed cooking and baking and
also enjoyed the outdoor activities of fishing, camping and
working in her flower beds. She liked bowling and gambling,
but she especially enjoyed playing bingo. Above all else,
she found joy spending time with cherished family,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Millard Ketterling
of Great Falls; daughters Wendy (Mike) Maslowski and Robin
(Mike) Bratz of Great Falls; sons Terry Ketterling of Belt
and Steven (JoVonne) Ketterling of Great Falls; sisters Mrs.
Dorothy Simonsen of Billings, Mrs. Louella Doom of Laurel,
Mrs. Thelma (Wallace) Shay of Laurel, Mrs. Betty Keane of
Casper, Wyo. and Mrs. Jessie (Bill) Kukes of Laurel;
grandchildren Jeffrey Ketterling of Great Falls, Colton
(Mariah) Ketterling of San Diego, Calif., Casey (Matthew)
Jambretz of Great Falls, and Chilo Ketterling of Great
Falls; great-grandchildren Andre Jambretz, Reagan Jo
Ketterling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
