On Dec. 20, 1940, Carol Jean Ketterling was born to Lester and Lois Boylan in Laurel, where she was raised and eventually graduated high school. Carol briefly worked for First National Bank in Billings prior to meeting her husband. She married Millard Ketterling in Laurel on July 30, 1960. They shared nearly 52 years together and were blessed with two daughters and two sons. Carol was busy raising her children and being a fluent homemaker from 1960 until 1975. After her children started school, she went to work at various restaurants, nursing homes, bars and diners. She retired in 1992 due to an injury.

Carol was gifted with creativity in arts and crafts, which she loved working with. She enjoyed cooking and baking and also enjoyed the outdoor activities of fishing, camping and working in her flower beds. She liked bowling and gambling, but she especially enjoyed playing bingo. Above all else, she found joy spending time with cherished family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
