Berthol "Shorty" Grenz, 83, of Lockeford, died May 31 in a local hospital following a short illness. He was born on Dec. 7, 1916, in Gackle, N.D., and moved to Lockeford in 1946.

Julia (Mustra) Grenz

Julia Grenz, 83, of Lodi, died May 3, 2014 in a local convalescent hospital following an extended illness. She was born Julia Mustra on May 29, 1919, in Butte, Mont.

Mrs. Grenz moved to this area in 1922 and married Berthol Grenz. They resided in Lockeford for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lodi.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Marvin Grenz, of North Dakota; and nephew, Greg Grenz, of Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Berthol Grenz, in 2000.

Private services and internment were held at Cherokee Memorial Park.
