Bill was born to Willard and Dorothy (Reinhold) Grenz on
June 19, 1950.
He married Linda Wilson on May 25, 1969. She was a helpmate,
companion and his love for over 49 years. This union was
blessed with two loving sons.
Bill grew up in Piedmont, SD, where he went to elementary
and junior high. He graduated from Sturgis High School in
1968. He worked for his father at Sturgis Meat Service and
then went on to Black Hills Power and Light in Wyodak, WY.
He owned a business in Upton, WY, before moving back to
Sturgis where he later became a truck driver until his
retirement in 2015.
Willard “Bill” Grenz went into the loving arms of Jesus on
July 24, 2017, at home surrounded by his family after a
lengthy battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Grenz, son, Burt (Aimée)of
Holland, MI; son, Bart (Stacey) of Cody, WY; four
grand-children, Schylar, Jared, Julianna and Tyler;
brothers, Duane Grenz and Ron (Jackie) Gapp; sister, Patty
(Mark) Pottorff; mother-in-law, Freda Wilson; sister-in-law,
Jennifer (Mike) Silbaugh and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Willard D. Grenz, John and
Dorothy Gapp, two brothers, one sister and his grandparents.
Memorials are established at the Assembly of God Church in
Sturgis and John T. Vucurevich Cancer Care Institute in
Rapid City.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017, from 6:00 p.m.to
7:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26,
2017, at Believers Fellowship Church in Sturgis, SD, with
Pastor J.R. Meadows officiating.
