An example of hope, faith, and grace
Lynnette Lee Strickland House was born on February
7, 1944 in Los Angeles California.
Her birth father ("Rocky" Stickland) was arrested,
convicted, was incarcerated and divorced Lynnette's mother,
Wanda Lilac Huether, who married Stanley Marvin House.
Lynnette spent most of her childhood in Azusa and El
Monte, California.
She married at the age of 17 to William Mclean of El
Monte, California. Sadly, William died of Brights Disease at
the age of 18.
Shortly thereafter, Lynnette met Larry Anderson in
La Habra, California on his 20th birthday, July 3, 1962.
Their connection was instant. They were married on February
22, 1963. Their marriage was strong, true and they built it
to last a lifetime. Upon Lynnette’s passing they were
married just 2 months shy of 47 years.
Lynnette gave birth to 5 children, Troy, Kelley,
Darrell, Amy and Rebecca. She has 6 granddaughters, Taylor,
Claire, Sophia, Chloe, Madalynn and Olivia.
Lynnette loved being a Mom and especially loved
being a grandma. To the grandchildren she is Nana.
Lynnette loved crafting, and spent many hours
knitting, crocheting and tole painting. Through her love of
painting she met many good friends, some of which became
life long and very dear.
Lynnette and Larry loved to travel, they visited
many places throughout the world. They did most of their
traveling through Larry’s business but also enjoyed some
fabulous vacations together as well as with friends. They
visited England, France, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Hong
Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and
South Korea.
Lynnette always loved the beach. Her favorite place
to vacation was Hawaii. Over the years they vacationed in
Maui, Oahu, the big island Hawaii and Kauai. They also took
several cruises to the Caribbean.
Lynnette lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on
December 11, 2009. She fought hard for the life she loved
and built. As much as she loved the Lord, she wasn’t ready
to leave her life long love and her family quite so soon.
During her illness she was truly an example of hope, faith,
and grace. She passed peacefully in her own bed beside
Larry, gently holding hands.
