Obituary for Archie L. Grenz



Archie L. Grenz, born December 13, 1927 to Benjamin and Emma Grenz, went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to a family of over 30 people.
After World War II, Archie was drafted into the military and trained in Alaska from 1950 to 1952. He returned from the military and married Mary McMaster in 1954. Archie and Mary had two sons and one daughter. Mary preceded him in death in 1993. Archie later remarried in 1996 to Leanora Reiswig.
Long-time resident of Acampo and Lodi, Archie grew Crenshaw melons for 30 years and grew winegrapes for the rest of his life. His many hobbies included fishing, camping, cooking, cracking jokes, playing the trombone, spending time with family and friends, and playing cards late into the night with his friends. He was an active member of the Native Sons of the Golden West and the Sons of Retirement.
Archie is survived by his wife, Leanora Grenz, his sister, Darlene Fuso, his children Rick (Pam) Grenz, Will (Terri) Grenz, and Debbie (Don) Haynes, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Archie's graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11am at Cherokee Memorial Park.
