GRENZ FAMILY TREE

 

A short History

      Wilhelmina Charlotta Grenz Tipton Duncan was born on February 18, 1922 to Lydia Schiermeister and Godfrey C. Grenz. Minnie grew up in the Temvik area on a farm which later evolved into the J. T. Ranch.  She was baptized July 7, 1922 at Faith Lutheran Church and was confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in 1937.  During World War II Minnie worked as a riveter for Consolidated Aircraft in California.  There she met and married Joseph Brack Tipton on March 27, 1945.  They settled in the Sealy area where they owned and operated Green Valley Chicken Farm for 10 years.  Minnie and Joe worked together in the Beauty Salon they owned in Brookshire.  They opened and operated the first self service car wash in Sealy.  Minnie continued to operate the car washes and salon after the death of Joe in 1968 spending 21 years in the car wash business and 34 years in the salon.  On may 23, 1970 Minnie married Roland R. Duncan.  They added the rent house business to their many pursuits.  Minnie passed on Wednesday March 27 at the River Oaks Nursing Home in Columbus. Texas after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband Roland R. Duncan, son Dennis Brack Tipton and his wife Rebecca Steinbach ti9pton, Three grandchildren:  Devon Denise, Dennis Brack II, and Corey John Tipton.  Her sisters: Esther Dennis, Anne Schmitz and Two brothers: Hervbert Grenz and Leo Grenz.  And Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a son, Joseph Franklin Tipton II, parents: Godfrey C. Grenz and Lydia Schiermeister Grenz, siblings Frieda O'Callahan, Alma Grenz, Edwin Grenz, Rosie Fuller, and Walter Grenz.
