*Notes:  Walter attended grade school in the Gayton District and Linton Public School;  he graduated from Linton High School in 1950.  He also attended State School of Science in Wahpeton, graduating in 1955.  He also attended Ross Aviation School in Bismarck, where he received his Commercial Pilot's License.

Walter operated Aero Service and Sales at Minot International Airport, until his untimely death in a plane crash at Cheyenne, WY in 1963, at the age of 31 years.
