Obituary for Patrick Oral Grenz

Patrick Oral Grenz, 90, of Twin Falls, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Rosetta Assisted Living.

He was born March 17, 1918, in Ontario, Ore., the son of Fred Carl Grenz and Stella Bess (Jackson) Grenz. He lived most of his life in Twin Falls. He attended school through the ninth grade. He served in the Army during World War II. After the Army, he went to work for Union Motors Ford Dealership. He attended the National Technical Schools in Los Angeles, Calif., where he received his Auto Mechanics and Diesel Certificate of Merit, his Membership Certificate, and his Air Conditioning-Refrigeration and Electrical Appliances Master Course Certificate. He married Inez Isabel Cederburg in December of 1945. He worked as a janitor at the Elks Club, then later ran his own lawn care business before retiring.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Twin Falls and was also a member of the Elks Club. Patrick enjoyed woodworking and loved making toy rocking horses for his grand-nieces and nephews. He belonged to a miniature train club and had a train track in his garage that he enjoyed.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Delmar Grenz; and a sister, Ruby (Grenz) Nilsson. He is survived by his brother, Fred David (Bonnie) Grenz of Utah; his sister, Stella Biggs; a sister-in-law, Catherine Grenz of Twin Falls; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park," with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing for family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the mortuary.
