Lydia Weishaar, 86, Bismarck, died May 13,
2005, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11
a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev.
Wes Aardahl officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset
Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.
Lydia was born March 22, 1919, in New Leipzig, to Jacob and
Caroline (Kurle) Hagel. She graduated from New Leipzig High
School in 1938, and went on to earn a teaching certificate
from Dickinson College. Lydia worked in the shipyards in
Everett, Wash., during World War II. She also taught in a
one room school in rural North Dakota. On Nov. 11, 1944,
Lydia married Edwin T. Weishaar in Carson. They farmed near
Elgin, moved to Lemmon, S.D., and then moved to Bismarck in
1953.
Lydia enjoyed reading, baking, canning, gardening,
embroidering and fishing.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Weishaar, Bismarck,
and Cindy (Jack) Cain, Bismarck; and one brother, Arthur
Hagel, Mandan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; her
parents; daughter, Sandi; three brothers; four sisters; and
