Lula Hoff, 93, Steele, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Miller Pointe Care Center, Mandan, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 21, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, North Dakota with Rev. Jacob DeBoer officiating. Lula was born June 13, 1924, at Dawson, North Dakota, to Phillip and Magdalena (Stadel) Grenz. She was raised and educated in a country school near Dawson. On October 29, 1942, she married Reinhold Hoff.

Over her lifetime of cooking, being a waitress, owning her own business–Crown Lanes Café–she also worked for Rainbow Foods, and Dan’s Super Market packaging and cooking products to ship to Bismarck Stores. Sharing her cooking secrets, her flowers, and her garden was her passion. She always had a good garden and beautiful flowers, she had the touch for that, and she passed her knowledge on to us.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rose Ann Albrecht, Bismarck, Karen (Garrie) Auch, Mandan; son, Raymond Hoff, Mandan; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Lula was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Sam Grenz; five sisters, Bertha Hoff, Amelia Grenz, Othelia Grenz, Betty Lang, and Alice Geist; granddaughter, Michelle; great-grandson, Trevor; son-in-law, Albert Albrecht, daughter-in-law, Marian Hoff, and grandson, Rodney.
