A short History of John Stoller

John served in the CCC;s during 1935 & 1936.  When he got back home, he married Alice Zoller and they rented Pete Stoller's farm for 3 years.  This farm is currently own by Ed Wanner.

John worked on the threshing crew and famed with his Dad until 1943, when they bought the farm his daughter Jenny now lives on.

John and Alice's home was never empty.  They always had at least one hired hand living with them, as well as a teacher from the nearby one-room country school.  John's brothers, George and Walter, spent a lot of time with them when they were young, as did their many nephews.  It was not unusual for them to have 7 or 8 boys staying with them at one time.  These were grandsons of their hired man, Jake Steiger, nephews and relatives of friends.  All were welcomed to "The Boy's Ranch".  When John would lose his temper at the machinery and throw tools, the kids would scatter in all directions and everyone would have a good laugh!

John and Alice love antiques and missed very few auctions sales in the 1970's.  they have had 3 auction sales of their own and will have more in the future.

John & Alice are still very active and always willing to lend a helping hand, as they have done all their lives.  They helped care for their invalid grand-daughter, Jacqueline Moch., until her death in 1990.  They helped with the care of john's brother, Jake, until cancer ended his life in 1981.  They also cared for John's parents in their old age.

John & Alice bought his parent's house in Hazelton after Christina's death.  They retired from farming in 1981 after John had open-heart surgery, but still help out at the farm since their son-in-law's illness. Since Jake's death, they are the only Stoller's still living in ND.

Obituary for Al Moch

A short History of Al and Jenny (Stoller) Moch

Jenny and Al spent the first few months of their marriage at Glasgow AFB, MT., where Al was stationed.  They were transferred to Sacramento, CA just before Christmas and spent the remainder of Al's duty there.  Alan was born at Mather AFB.

In Oct. 1968, they moved to the Bay area of CA, where they were both employed in the grocery business.  They moved back to ND in 1974 to farm.

Jackie Jo was born with severe handicaps, including cerebral palsy and epilepsy.  With the help of Jenny's parents, they cared for her until Oct. 1979, when she was placed at the Grafton State School.  They continued to bring her home for frequent lengthy visits until she passed away in Sept. 1990.

Jenny worked in Jake and Lorraine Stoller's grocery store for as long as it was open and worked part-time as a postal clerk until 1986, when she was appointed Postmaster at Hazelton, ND.

In June, 1987, Al; was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.  He has undergone 3 major surgeries, several series of chemotherapy and the maximum radiation.  At this time, Al is holding his own and has quite amazed all doctors involved in his treatment.

Al & Jenny continue to live on the farm and raise cattle.  Jenny belongs to the "end of the Trail" Saddle Club.  They have rented out the crop-land.  Alan is a salesman and serviceman for Allied Pressure Washers, and also sells magnetic environmental products..
