Mr. and Mrs. John P. Grenz arrived in North Dakota Oct. 29, 1906.  there were four in the group. John P. and Katherine Grenz, and his brothers, Philip and Fred.

The couple homesteaded on a farm 12 miles east of napoleon.  They lived there until 1945 when they moved to Napoleon.

The Grenzs' had four children:  Reinhold and John, who died in infancy; Mathilda, who passed away in 1931 at the age of 22, and Mrs. Walter (Emelia) Beffert, Billings, Montana.
