Herbert Will
1933-2018

Herbert Will 85, passed away peacefully November 22nd, at his home surrounded by his family and faithful dog "Sophielicous". Born in Linton, ND on October 20, 1933 to Henry & Sophia Will, he was the youngest of 9 children. 7 brothers and 1 sister.

Herb left the family farm to join the reserves. Followed by 3 years with Rhinehart Oil, before taking a job with Acme Boot Co. covering the northwest until he retired after 28 years. During this time, he was set up on a blind date with a stewardess, Carleen Hall of Great Falls, MT. He always said, "I was blind and she was looking". Herb and Carleen married on September 5th, 1967 in Coeur d'Alene, ID and moved to Billings, MT where their first child Shannon was born in '69. Soon after they moved to Sun Valley where their second daughter Simone was born in '72. In '77 they made Boise their permanent home. In 1980 Herb developed and started the original Shorty's Country & Western Bar.

Herb was a true cowboy, gentleman, businessman, mentor and friend to anyone who knew him. A man of few words, who's heart was bigger than his belt buckle. He was an amazing husband of 51 years, loving father and grandfather.

Herb is survived by his wife Carleen, daughter's Shannon Will and Simone Will-Greear and his grandchildren Madisyn, Kynady and Slaten Greear, the absolute lights of his life.
A special thanks to his favorite nephew Carlyle and wife Linda of Bismarck, ND, close friend Tim Reid, Brad Taylor and the staff at All Care Health & Hospice solutions and countless others for making Herb's last days as comfortable as possible.

At Herb's request there will be no funeral service. The family will host a celebration of his life Sunday December 9th from 3:00 to 6:00 at Ironwood Bar & Grill (the old Shorty's) 5467 Glenwood, Garden City, ID.
