George Grenz
October 8th, 1935-September 5th, 2012

George John Grenz of Highlands Ranch Colorado, passed away on September 5th 2012. George was born on October 8th, 1935 in Linton North Dakota to John & Rose Grenz. There he grew up on the family farm outside of Hazelton North Dakota with his mother, father, younger sister Delores and younger brother Rodney. George attended and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1953. He later achieved his Bachelor's of Architecture from North Dakota State University in March 1962.

He met the love of his life, LeAnn, while working at Bernard Hillyer Architects in Bismarck North Dakota in 1966. The two married on September 2nd, 1967 and had their first son, Michael, on September 2nd, 1968. They moved from Bismarck North Dakota to Alexandria Minnesota and subsequently La Crosse Wisconsin and had their second son, Robert, on November 18th, 1970. After moving to Brownsville Texas and then Littleton Colorado, they had their third son, Patrick on December 9th, 1972. While in Colorado, George worked for many years at Stearns- Roger Architects. The Grenz family enjoyed camping trips within Colorado and also taking road trips to visit relatives in Idaho and North Dakota. Additionally they took many family vacations together around the western half of the United States.

George was a quiet, gentile and unassuming man who was always there for his family and friends. He had a passion for creating and collecting model cars and belonged to the BMW Car Club of America. He worked for many years as an architect and specification writer and enjoyed his profession. George was a loving husband of 45 years to LeAnn, a beloved brother to Rodney (& wife Lynda) and Delores (& husband Don). He was a devoted father to sons Michael (& wife Prema), Robert (& girlfriend Jill), and Patrick (& wife Melissa). He was a loving grandfather to Dylan, Oliver, Mayme, Kaleb, Adam & Izzy. George passed away after a wonderful life filled with love and joy.

Service will be held on Saturday September 8th at 11am at Abiding Word Evangelical Lutheran Church in Highlands Ranch.
