Elvira E. Grenz, 82, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away
Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Miller Pointe, Mandan.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday,
November 7, 2018, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan with
Rev. Christina Martin officiating. A gathering of family
and friends is scheduled for 5-7:00 PM, Tuesday, November
6, 2018 with a Prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM, at
DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Burial will be in
St. Johnâs Cemetery, Mandan. Cremation has taken place.
Elvira was born April 26, 1936, to Henry and Agnes (Sikel)
Grenz in Hazelton, North Dakota, where she was raised and
educated. Elvira worked as a farmwife, and her hobbies
included playing cards and gardening. She was a member of
the Mandan Eagles.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (David)
Schoonover, Bismarck; four sons, Larry Frederick, North
Carolina, Norman (Sally) Frederick and Jeffery Frederick,
all of Mandan, and Ted (Dorothy) Frederick, North
Carolina; one sister, Darlene (James) Crismon, Gresham,
Oregon; four brothers, Gordon Grenz and Lyle (Jean) Grenz,
all of Hazelton, David (Kristy) Grenz, Parker, Colorado,
and Kenneth (Georgette) Grenz, Hazelton; seven
grandchildren, Brittney (Sheldon) Hendricks, Dickinson,
Kassandra (Zach) Landis, Mandan, Kimberly Schoonover,
Mandan, Devin, Negil and TJ Frederick, Mandan, and Cody
Schoonover, Bismarck; four great-grandchildren, Lilly Ann
Evans, McKenna and Mason Hendricks, and Sayer Landis.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo
in 1998; and son Paul Frederick.Leo D. Frederick, 71,
Mandan, died Nov. 27, 1998, at his daughter's home in
Mandan after a brief battle with cancer. Services will be
held at 2 p.m. Monday, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan,
with the Rev. Paul D. Fiske officiating. Burial will be in
St. John's Cemetery, south of Mandan.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m.
Monday, until the time of the service, both at
Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan. |

Obituary
Leo D. Frederick, 71, Mandan, died Nov. 27, 1998, at his
daughter's home in Mandan after a brief battle with
cancer. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at First

Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.
Leo was born on Jan. 12, 1927, in Morton County, the son
of Fred J. and Marie A. (Schultz) Frederick. Born and
raised on the family homestead, he lived and farmed there
until he retired in 1989. He married in 1959 and raised
six children. While a resident at Liberty Heights in
Mandan, he did volunteer work there as well as for Aid,
Inc. An active member of the Mandan Eagles for 28 years,
he put in many volunteer hours for that organization after
his retirement.
He was a member of the Farmers Union and First Lutheran
Church. A very sociable man, Leo made friends everywhere
he went and enjoyed a game of cards as well as old-time
music.
He will be deeply missed by those who survive him,
including his four sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry
D., Vanceboro, N.C., Norman J. and Sally, Mandan, Jeffrey
T., Mandan, and Ted J. and Dorothy, Vanceboro; one
daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia M. and David Schoonover,
Mandan; six grandchildren, Britney, Kassondra, Kimberly
and Cody Schoonover, and Devin and Nigel Frederick; three
sisters and two brothers-in-law, Erma Walker, Ruth Keller,
and Iris and Clarence Ziniel, all of Mandan; and Vernon
Wenger, Washington; and special friends, Arnold Landgrebe
and Richard Hagestuen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Paul;
and two sisters, Ruby Wenger and Esther Walker.
